Hmm....hog fat

This is the pork butt (shoulder) for Sadie's Birthday party on Sunday. It was a little over 15lbs. It "only" took 12 1/2 hours to cook so that was nice. I'll pull the pork in about an hour to have ready for pulled pork sandwiches. Then into the foodsaver to be ready for Sunday.

Sadie just told me in her cute little voice, "thanks for cooking my birthday food dad." She also just noticed the big #3 stuffed pinata and was very curious about it.

Sunset colors

We were in the house around 8:45PM tonight and looked outside and noticed that it looked really cool outside during the sunset. The sky had some really rich blue's and pink's and purple's. So we ran outside with the camera and shot these. The pictures have not been tweaked or adjusted in anyway. All that was done was a resizing to upload them online. Every few minutes I would reset the custom white balance to our white siding outside to keep our skin tone looking okay.

Two Girls and a Baby Belly!!

John took some pictures of Sadie and I with the baby belly showing! We are all getting more and more excited for Baby Lauren to arrive! I just need to survive the summer heat! Thank God for maternity swim suits :-)

Sadie is officialy potty trained like 90% of the time :-) She still wears pull-ups to bed at night, but stayed dry through her nap the past few days! We're thankful to have crossed this bridge before crossing the new one ;-)

Bumpa's Visit

Today Bumpa Rick, Yamma Barb and Uncle Guy (John's family) came for the day to visit! We ate John's smoked pulled pork (Yummm), visited the nature center and stopped at Culver's for icecream! It was a fun time :-)

Sadie's Last Day of Preschool

Sadie had her last day of 2 1/2 year old preschool this Friday. She started the year late, this past February; the class met just on Friday mornings. Next year, Sadie is signed up for the 3 year old class which meets on Monday and Wednesday mornings. She had a great first experience at school! Here she is with her teachers: Mrs. Waters and Ms. Cancel :-)

Country Livin'

We are enjoying the longer nights, running in the yard, playing kick ball, blowing bubbles and running some more! After playing in the yard, we went for a walk down the corn path and then stopped to visit our neighbors Walter and Joan (and their cats)!

Grandparent's Visit

Sunday, my parents spent the day with us. We went out for breakfast and then visited the Quarry Hill Nature Center! Then, Monday, Gramma Barb came for the day (Grampa Rick had to work)! We did some shopping and ate out for lunch! Visit's from the Grandparent's are always so fun, and go by too quick!

After I mowed the grass tonight we went outside and played in Sadie's sandbox. There are a few cute pictures as well as a fun video clip. (written by John--my once a quarter appearance online)

Bike Riding and Park Playing

John got home early tonight!! So, we went out for a bike ride at a park 'in town' and enjoyed the warm weather on the trails - all before dinner! There are several play grounds along the trail, so we stopped and played at two of them! Sadie and Daddy had a blast, while I snapped pictures! Sadie also met a friend and her friend helped her go down the 'big slides'! They were so cute to watch : )

We had a great time tonight with some dear friends! Sadie's buddy, Micah and his parents and his baby brother came over to have dinner with us and play outside! John made ribs and he wanted to show you all in the picture above! Ha! Here is the recap of our evening in photos! Enjoy!
